Meet the Partner Families

Abiye Zeleke, his wife Muna Hussien, and their 3 children are excited to move into their new home! Their current rent is higher than what their mortgage will be, and they need all the opportunities to save they can get as they prepare for their older daughter to begin college this fall. You might have seen the story about her in the paper: She is an honor roll student at J.P. McCaskey and the recipient of multiple scholarships. However, as every parent knows, college is expensive and the savings from owning their own home will help ensure not only that she is able to attend college, but also that her younger siblings will be able to follow in her footsteps.

Solanyi Paniagua-Feliz is a single mother of 4 children. She came to Habitat because of overcrowding in her current apartment. Her new home in Columbia will not only have more room for growing children, but it will also be in a safer neighborhood with ample yard for the children to play in with their new neighbors, the Zeleke-Hussiens.
Both families have had the opportunity to get to know one another as they completed their sweat equity hours on their new homes. We at Habitat are excited that these families will not only realize their dreams' of homeownership, but will also experience community when they puchase their homes in September!
